Terms of use
Wandwise
Effective date: [launch date] Last updated: Sat 7 Nov, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Edara Technologies Ltd., a company registered in Kenya and trading as Wandwise (“Wandwise”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They cover your use of our website (wandwise.co.ke) and app (app.wandwise.co.ke) (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account, or by using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Wandwise.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Kenyan law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2012, and the Data Protection Act, 2019.
2. What Wandwise is
Wandwise is a learning app that helps learners in Grades 4 to 9 practise CBE subjects through short lessons, questions, quizzes and games. Guardians and teachers use it to follow their learners’ progress.
- Wandwise supports school learning. It doesn’t replace a school, a teacher or the official curriculum.
- Lessons follow the KICD curriculum designs for each grade and subject, but Wandwise is not an official KICD or KNEC product, and we don’t guarantee any exam or assessment result.
- Subjects and grades are added over time. Not every subject or grade is available yet.
3. Who can have an account
- Guardians and teachers must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. Tutors register as teachers.
- Learners don’t sign up themselves. A guardian or teacher creates each learner’s account and is responsible for it (Section 4).
You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date, and you must verify your email address before adding a learner.
4. Adding learners
When you add a learner, you confirm that:
- if you are a guardian, you are the learner’s parent or legal guardian; or
- if you are a teacher, you have the consent of the learner’s parent or guardian to create the account and to share the learner’s progress with you.
You are responsible for:
- giving the learner their username and password, and keeping them safe;
- the learner’s use of Wandwise, and making sure it’s appropriate for them; and
- telling us, or deleting the learner, if the consent you relied on is withdrawn.
You can change a learner’s username, reset their password, or delete the learner at any time. Deleting a learner permanently deletes all of their data.
5. Your account and security
- Keep your password private, and don’t let anyone else use your account. We recommend turning on two-step sign-in.
- Tell us straight away at support@wandwise.co.ke if you think someone has used your account without permission.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happened because of our failure.
6. Fees
Wandwise is free to use at the moment. If we introduce fees for some or all of the Service, we will tell you in advance, show the prices clearly in the app before you pay anything, and update these terms. You won’t be charged unless you choose to pay.
7. Using Wandwise fairly
You agree not to, and not to let a learner:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other people or Wandwise;
- try to get into another person’s account, or into parts of the Service you’re not allowed to use;
- copy, scrape, resell or republish our lessons, questions, illustrations or mascot, except for personal or classroom learning;
- interfere with the Service, overload it, or try to get around its security or limits; or
- add a learner without the consent described in Section 4.
8. Our content and the mascot
Our lessons, questions, solutions, illustrations, sounds, software, name and logo, and our mascot, Loki, belong to Edara Technologies Ltd. or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them through the Service for learning. Teachers may use them with their own learners.
We work hard to make the content accurate, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, please tell us at support@wandwise.co.ke.
Your data stays yours. The personal data and learning activity in your account belong to you and your learners. We use it only as our privacy notice describes.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Wandwise without owing you anything.
9. Availability and changes to Wandwise
We aim to keep Wandwise available and working well, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.
We regularly improve Wandwise and may add, change or remove features. If we remove something important you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
10. Ending your use
- You can stop using Wandwise at any time. You can delete your account in Settings once its learners have been deleted. Deleting it permanently deletes your data, as our privacy notice describes.
- We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, if the consent in Section 4 is missing or withdrawn, or if the law requires us to. Unless the law or safety prevents it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put things right first.
- If we ever stop offering Wandwise, we will tell you in advance and explain what will happen to your data.
11. Our responsibility to you
- We provide Wandwise with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, and from the rights you have under Kenyan law, we provide it “as is”. We don’t promise particular learning or exam outcomes.
- We aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable, that were caused by something outside our reasonable control, or that were caused by you or a learner breaking these terms.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breaching your data protection rights, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Wandwise, our business or the law changes. We will update the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will tell guardians and teachers by email or in the app before they take effect, and may ask you to accept the new terms. If you don’t accept them, you can delete your account.
13. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please contact us first at legal@wandwise.co.ke. Most problems can be sorted out quickly. If we can’t resolve a dispute within 30 days, either of us may refer it to mediation in Nairobi before going to court. This doesn’t stop you from going to a court, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, or another body that the law allows.
14. General
- These terms and our privacy notice are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer these terms to another company that takes over Wandwise, provided your rights aren’t reduced. We will tell you if this happens.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction.
